Gosainkunda Trek

Gosaikunda, a stunning alpine lake, is believed to have been created by Lord Shiva when he thrust his Trishul (holy Trident) into a mountain to extract water so that he could cool his stinging throat after he had swallowed poison. Nowadays it's a pilgrimage site that attracts thousands of Hindus to take a dip in its holy waters in August each year.

This trek passes through beautiful alpine pastures with a challenging pass to cross, and provides good views to the Himalayan range as far as the Annapurna Himal!
